Accreditation and authorisation

Essential Energy

Once you have gained accreditation from the Department of Trade and Investment, and before working on or near Essential Energy’s electrical distribution network Accredited Service Providers (ASPs) must obtain authorisation in writing from Essential Energy to undertake contestable work. ASP’s must only perform contestable work for which they are authorised. Further information regard the requirements please read CEOP8049 – Network Authorisation Requirements. 

Initial ASP authorisation can be sought by completing CEOF6203 – Application for Authorisation: Contestable Work. Authorisation is to be renewed annual by completion of CEOF6203.01 – Application for Authorisation: Contestable Work – Renewal must be complete. 

As part of an ASP’s authorisation, all authorised workers must undertake annual refresher training in Essential Energy’s Electrical Safety Rules, and the units of competency relating to level of authorisation held with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with the applicable scope of registration.
