Graduates and trainees get first look at Essential Energy

05 February 2024

A cohort of 21 graduates and 8 trainees have had their first look at the regional heart of Essential Energy with a tour through the headquarters at Port Macquarie this week.

The next generation of the organisation have gained insight into all functional areas of the business during the first phase of the 3-year graduate program.

Trainees are also being included in the orientation program for the first time as part of their apprenticeships.

Essential Energy’s Organisational Development Senior Program Specialist, Sally Kay says investment in the graduates and trainees will support our future workforce while also growing a pipeline of leaders and technical experts.

“Over the course of the program, graduates will rotate through various functional areas of the business with supported development through Engineers Australia.

“Our 2024 trainees and graduates are based across NSW and include people getting first-hand experience in areas such as service delivery, finance, electrical engineering, procurement, legal and information technology, among others.

“Bringing fresh perspectives and cutting-edge knowledge from their field of study, graduates and trainees provide a diverse skill set enabling us to solidify our future capability requirements,” Sally says.
